Steve Tillotson's (Karesstale Afghans) Page.

Karesstale Afghans, located in Wiltshire in England. We have been in Afghans 21 years this year, first 11 as pet owners, last 10 as pet and show owners. Affix made up from the name of our first (and to date only) litter which was out of CH Lissue A Winters Tale and Montravia Kazar Karess (Karess and Tale make up our affix name).

We have 6 Afghans in our kennel, well, actually theyre all inside the house! We show IZZY - (born 7/9/94) Metewand Issere, black and tan bitch, mating of Metewand/Boxadan Grandson lines. Our oldest Afghan is OLIVER (born 29/5/85) - Montravia Spartan Warrior, who had a stroke and a toe amputation in the same year - but still has the energy to chase IZZY! Oliver has a UK Stud Book number, gained by winning a Reserve Challenge Certificate before he was retired.

Steve passed the Southern Afghan Hound clubs judging exam several years ago and judges at open show (junior) level. As the last 10 years have rolled by we have become ever more interested and involved in all aspects of breed history. Steve has a couple of computers on his home desk and has databases of pedigrees and UK show results. Steve continues to collect virtually anything Afghan, and being a romantic silly type of person is particularly interested in the ancient history of the breed. Steve has a growing collection of press cuttings, breed column notes, books, articles, bits of paper of all sorts that constitute his collection of archives. Most of his time is taken up studying these archives and trying to re-assemble them and then re-present them back for the enjoyment of anyone interested in the breed.
