Since 1958 dogs from this kennel have been recognized for type, quality, health, soundness and good temperament. Show Champions have made their name in 13 countries on 6 continents. Several achieving BIS status at major all breed shows. They have also proved themselves on the lure coursing field and as the producers of Champions. The exotic brindle Ch. Chandharas Darkhawk (pictured above) (co-owned by Ralph & Sue Neal) is the 7th generation down from the key litter by Chandhara Branwen Sheen Kamri ex Chandhara Shiraz of Tranwell which proved so influential across the globe. Aust Ch Chandhara Shimalsingh and Chandhara Shirazada went to Australia where both became multi champion producers, Chandhara Shinti-Yan went to the famous Akaba kennels of Lois Boardman in the USA and is behind top US kennels such as Coastwind, Genesis, Sandina, and Caravan. Chandhara Shirakara stayed at home and became the progenitor of champion producing lines in Europe, Australia, Canada and the USA.
Never used by anyone other than his owners Hawk produced only three litters. His first litter producing multiple lure coursing winners and near Ch offspring, and in his second FC Saimoon's Tessa Chandhara - believed to be the youngest Afghan Hound ever to finish her AKC lure coursing title. Tessa is also an all-breed Best in Field winner. Her sister Chandhara Saimoon Take T'The Stars has points toward her conformation title, needing just majors to finish but took time out to have an incredible litter by the young major pointed Chandhara Chahcheran Alysandhar. His 3rd litter produced Ch Saimoon's Wild Aramis and our exquisite "flowers" Saimoon Chandhara Wild Iris and Wild Poppy.

The opportunity arose to arrange the importation of Oohlala De Chahcheran who was bred by Bev Ward in France. Oohlala's pedigree is of strong Branwen breeding which is founded on, and perpetuates, the early lines of Sunny Shay's famous Grandeur kennels, and tied in back to that key litter by Kamri. Oohlala was then joined by her half sister Nisilys Chahcheran who was bred to major pointed Chandhara's Desert Sand producing an outstanding litter, represented here by the stunning black Alysandhar.

(Chahcheran is the affix of Bev Ward who moved from the UK to France a decade ago where she has continued to breed and preserve the Branwen lines. Branwen is the affix of Cynthia Boissevain (nee Madigan) who obtained her first Afghan, Am Fr Ch Diablo Of Grandeur in 1959 whilst resident in New York. In 1961 Mrs Madigan-Boissevain moved to Spain where she established the Branwen kennels and also imported another Grandeur Afghan, Kustar Of Grandeur who was in whelp to Hajji Baba of Grandeur).
The legacy of the original Grandeur lines is continued via the Branwen's and Chahcheran's, Nisilys and Oolala.
The year 2000 also brought another Grandeur connection with a litter by Ch. Asia Sunny Gets Blu ex Chandharas Take A Chance producing the stunning future star Chandhara's A Touch of Winter at Saimoon, once again co-owned with Ralph and Sue Neal. Great things are expected of this exciting young dog.
With this foundation, and careful breeding over multiple generations, ever watchful of the breed standard, selecting healthy, functional hounds with excellent temperaments we anticipate great things for the future.
