MY SECOND FOUNDATION BITCH

In 1982, Erin Brown (Quanmarra) in Queensland asked if she could put a bitch she had of nearly pure Daxlore breeding to Yaseer. As I had been enquiring about purchasing a bitch from her, she suggested that I keep ' Ch: Quanmarra Siguna ' (Pippa) and send her back one of the male puppies from her litter to Yaseer. Of course I jumped at the chance. This deal gave me my second foundation bitch, which turned out to be a real bonus for me.

Now came the beginning of what I consider the real 'Mauresque Salukis'. 'Pippa' was about 4 years old when she came to me, so I mated her to Yaseer when she came into season. This was the first of three successful litters she had for me, producing 2 beautiful dogs who gained their titles easily. Ch: Mauresque Sirian 'Teddy', and Ch: Mauresque Simoon (Brock) who went to live with Erin in Brisbane. Brock went on to produce the Specialty BIS winner under Vera Watkins in Sydney - Ch: Quanmarra Taran, who was only 18 months when she won this award. 'Teddy' is now behind the beautiful dogs at 'Mandy's Farousi Salukis'
