Jatabe-Tazi-Kennels R.Lanz Zarandona, Basque Country-Spain
Jatabe is the kennel of Rafael Lanz located in La RIOJA, Spain, founded on Sumava (Spain) bloodlines which trace back through the Spanish Branwen lines to the original Grandeur imports from the USA. The kennel breeds a distinctive type and in collaboration with breeders in France and the USA is contributing to the preservation and perpetuation of these valuable lines.
Jatabe have bred three litters to date, named alphabetically, A, B, D. Yes, the linguists amongst you spotted there is no "C" litter, and this is because there is no C letter in the Basque language. The first litter was based on Sumava stock (Sumava's Kairouan x Sumava's Lost In A Dream.

The second litter involved Jatabe importing the French dog Chahcheran Inditu who was largely of Sumava and Branwen breeding with an outcross in the third generation to the Swedish Alphaville lines. The strong Sumava and Branwen lines made Inditu an excellent choice of sire for the Jatabe bitch, Sumava's Lost In A Dream.
