THE SALUKI - CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 2000 EDITION In this Championship Show edition of The Saluki we hope that once again we have managed to provide something to interest everyone who loves salukis! With the Features - Gail Goodman's trip to Sinai to present a copy of her book to the Arab family who had first inspired her love of salukis makes fascinating reading. A tale that brought a lump to my throat at its conclusion. Philip Browning takes the opportunity to remind us of our responsibility for maintaining the saluki's functionality, and Terry Thorn, as a long time friend, has provided a fitting tribute to Eileen Skelton Fortune - whose death at the age of 93 saw the loss of one of the great breeders of the post war years. In the Regulars, the Pennyworths take us down memory lane with As Time Goes By, whilst the sires behind the four import dogs currently being campaigned in this country make an interesting feature in From Puppy to Champion. There are also, of course, the critiques and pictures from the SGHC Club's Limited and Open Shows, reports from English judges abroad in Hounds Around the World and the 1999/2000 Coursing Section resume. Other old favourites, combined with some really lovely advertising photos, make this latest edition, once again, an excellent investment for saluki connoisseurs anywhere in the world.
