Saluki Breed Notes 30/1/98
The Saluki or Gazelle Hound Club is holding an 18 class unbenched Limited Show on Sunday 8th February 1998. Venue for this show is The Recreation Hall, Centre for Epilepsy, Chalfont Common, Nr Chalfont-St-Giles, Bucks The show opens at 9.30 and the judging commences at 10am. The judges are dogs, Mrs Mitzi Maryon and bitches, Mrs Sheila Harmer. The referee is Miss Tracy Larkin. Entries are as follows: 29 dogs with 14 not for competition and 36 bitches with 10 not for competition. This makes a total entry of 65. The committee will be doing their catering as usual. The fare sounds wonderful so please leave your sandwiches at home and have breakfast and lunch out. For breakfast there will be bacon rolls available. For lunch the menu includes:- lasagne, chilli, jacket potatoes, quiche, chicken, fresh salmon steaks and salad. Also available will be home made soup and rolls. The committee is asking that everyone bring a cake to be sold for dessert. Also remember to bring donations for raffle prizes.
British Fields Sports Society, Countryside Business Group and the Countryside Movement are working together as the Countryside Alliance. On Sunday, 1st March, 1998, they will be holding a March to support the countryside which will be totally peaceful. To quote them:” It will not be anti-government; it will be pro-countryside. The march will start at the Embankment at 9:30 am. It will go from Westminster Embankment via Trafalgar Square and end at Hyde Park. The journey is 2.25 miles.
