The Saluki or Gazelle Hound Championship Show for the Millennium is on 21st October, 2000. Ian Stedman Brown would like me to remind you that Marie Bryce Smith has donated a signed copy of Hope and David Waters book "The Saluki in History, Art and Sport" which is to be auctioned at the Championship Show. Proceeds are to go to the Saluki health fund. For those persons who will be unable to attend but want to bid, postal bids can be sent to the Secretary John Hudson at 28 Cootes Lane, Fen Drayton, Cambs. CB4 5SL. As a guide to bidders, an unsigned copy of this book, would cost around £90. Ian would also like me to remind you that he is looking for photographs of Salukis prior to 1970. He has said that only one or two people have contacted him on this. Please, if you have any photos let Ian know so he can make arrangements for their exhibition. In spite of the long queues and empty petrol stations, The Darlington Championship Show appears to have few absentees in their classes. Our judge for salukis was Mr A F Spencer-Bolland. He chose for BOB. DCC Mrs P KENDALL Ch Gulzar Al-Mutakabbir with RDCC to Miss A BARRETT Seafleet Zanadu. BCC was awarded to Mrs Z RAWSON Ch Mumtaz Star Maker with the RDCC to Mr & Mrs P A GORTON Al Caliphs Sulabha. Best Puppy Mrs E A MACDONALD Mabrooka Janina. Well done all!!
