SALUKI (GAZELLE HOUND) BREED NOTES

SALUKI NOTES WEEK ENDING 23 June 2000

The Saluki or Gazelle Hound Club held their Open Show last Sunday. The rain gods were kind but the cold weather prevailed. The atmosphere was warm and made up for the weather. Judging dogs was Mrs A Faber. She chose For her best dog , Mrs M. Bryce-Smith's Ch Kasaque Hyperion of Saruk. Reserve Best Dog was Mr M McCormick-Smith's Mumtaz Star Song. The bitch judge was Ms K. Newham. She chose for her best bitch, Mr & Mrs C.M & H.V. Williams Kasaque Harina, and her Reserve Best bitch was Mrs E. Rushton's Kasaque Harayir. Ch K. Hyperion went on to win Best in Show. Best Puppy in Show was Miss S. Harms-Cooke's Mumtaz Greta Garbo of Timellie.

Members of the SGHC and their Family are invited to a Coursing Section Millennium get-together on 6th August, 2000. Activities will commence at 12.00p.m. with a Presentation and Discussion with Mr Roger Upton. This will be followed by a bring and share barbecue. At 2.pm there will be a match followed by a not too serious agility trial. Coffee/tea and cakes around 5p.m.. Three Counties Agricultural Society held their Championship Show yesterday. Our judge was Mrs L.J. Wiggins. She chose for her BOB, DCC CM & HV Williams and Mrs R. Redfern's Ch El Hamrah Mehrab-Khalifa (IMP) with the RDCC to Mrs D Copperthwaite's Al Caliphs Madaan. BCC, was awarded to Messrs Wieden and Farrar's Ch Sedeki Irada with RBCC to Mrs J Prior's Nefisa Razuna Bint Ubu, Best Puppy was Mr & Mrs Parnham & Mrs D Copperthwaite's Aliya Rasmi of Amirah.
