Some time ago eleven year old Paul Carter, Ann and Kevin's son, asked for pledges for completing a full marathon swim, at the local pool. Unfortunately, between then and now lots of problems occurred including the family car being stolen, set on fire and insurers spending 12 weeks settling the claim. During that period Paul couldn't make it to the pool but now he has succeeded in his monumental task and asks for us all to put our money where our mouth was. Please send the money or contact Ann and Kevin on 01246 82973, if like me, you cannot remember how much you pledged. All the proceeds are being donated to Saluki Welfare. Kevin advises that approximately 360 was pledged. Congratulations, Paul in receiving your Marathon Certificate and doing a great job.!

For those of you with medical knowledge or access to medical digests we have been givena laboratory report regarding the death of Kasaque Fanuch. As the histologists report is yet to be received, final conclusions cannot yet be drawn. However, within the bacteriological data the finding of Clostridium perfringens in the small intestine is said to be significant. Clostridium perfringens type A can on occassions, in dogs, produce a peracute toxaemia with death intervening within twelve hours of onset. As the amount was large we now await the histology which should expand upon this diagnosis. This leads us towards the immune system rather than the heart and is further information for the experts to consider. We have a long road to travel but meanwhile thank you to Christopher Lewis and his laboratory people for this step along the way.
