SALUKI NOTES WEEK ENDING 21 July 2000

Last Saturday I judged the South Wales Kennel Association Championship Show. The Weather was not to bad, considering the wet and cold weather we have been experiencing this summer. There was one quick downpour which we all ran for cover and then we managed to avoid any rain for the duration of the judging. BOB,DCC for his second CC was Ms L. Langton's Al Caliphs Suhayl with RDCC to Mrs M Bryce-Smith's Ch Mumtaz Moon Magic. BCC went to Mrs R Lewis' Ch Knightellington Zafa. RBCC Was awarded to Mr P. & Mrs E Shimmin's Cranstal Incandescence. Best Puppy was Mrs D Copperthwaite's Aliya Sarama. I shall save my comments for my critique. Moon Magic was second later in the day, in the Veteran Stakes. In the July, 2000 issue of the Kennel Gazette there is a list of allocation of Challenge Certificates for 2002/3. For Windsor Championship Show 2002/3 there are not any Certificates for Salukis. I can only assume that the Kennel Club must feel that we have too many sets of tickets for our entries, which we all accept, are falling. Perhaps the Kennel Club, with their special kind of wisdom will look at where are tickets are now being given. Bath, always a high entry show and even this year where we had the equivalent of an Open Show, we had an entry in the mid forties. Always when there were CC available we had an entry of 100 or more. This show lost it tickets in favour of the Hound Association of Scotland in the last large reshuffle. . We have four sets of tickets available in Scotland and the tickets in central England are being reduced and that is where most of our competitors live. While I do think our tickets should be geographically distributed, I, believe at this time, that we have more sets of tickets in Scotland and some of these ticket
