SALUKI NOTES WEEK ENDING 21st April 2000

The Combined Saluki Clubs of Great Britain are having a Millennium Party on13th May, 2000 at Barwell Village Hall. Barwell is just off the A1 at the Huntingdon Exit. There will be a best six legs, sausage and spoon race, handler most like their dog competitions, plus the Welfare Stall. Lunch will be a bring and share picnic. Paul Mahon has returned from the U.S.A. having undergone surgery there. He has asked that we include the following:- " I would like to thank everyone who has sent cards, flowers and best wishes for my recent, successful heart/lung surgery in the USA. Saluki people have been so very supportive for which I am most grateful. Undoubtedly, it was a good omen that we had a beautiful litter of nine healthy puppies born on the morning of my operation! Last week we received information regarding an exhibition of Jacquie Jones' paintings. This exhibition, 'Spirit of the Horse', will be taking place in the palatial King's bedroom and adjoining rooms at Palace House, in Newmarket The exhibition will comprise of up to 40 of Jacquie Jones' pictures and associated works. The exhibition coincides with the Guinea's meeting at the racecourse. There is also the traditional Festival in Newmarket, which is based at Palace House, with living history displays in the House and Gardens. Jacquie is well known in the Saluki world for her beautiful paintings of Salukis so I am quite sure she will have included some of these, in the exhibition.
