Saluki Breed Notes 19/9/97

Mrs Mavis Shellard has kindly sent me the results from the Saluki Classes on the Munster Circuit in Ireland which was from the 16th of August to the 23rd of August.. At the Hound Association of Ireland (16th August), Judge, Mr Espen Engh , Green Star Dog was Shellard’s Seafleet Witchcraft. Green Star Bitch & BOB was Shellard’s Ch Seafleet Timpani. Clonmel Show (17th August) , Judge, Miss D Cook was Green Star Dog or Bitch, Shellard’s Ch Seafleet Timpani. Killarney (19 August) Judge Mr R. McDowell was Green Star Dog & BOB Kinsey’s Seafleet Wondering Star, Green Star Bitch, Lucas’ Tealby Serafina. Limerick (21st August) Judge Mr W Warke, Green Star Dog & BOB White’s Rasta and Green Star Bitch Shellard’s Ch Seafleet Timpani. The final show was Tralee (23rd August) Judge Mrs B Cooper, Green Star dog or Bitch was Shellard’s Seafleet Witchcraft.

Richmond Championship Show was last Friday. I had the honour of judging and enjoyed myself very much. My stewards made life easy being well organised and they were also light hearted which made working with them a pleasure I have been, for the most part, keeping away from the ring this year for a couple of reasons, the first because I couldn’t through illness and the second because I wanted to see the dogs with fresh eyes. BOB & BCC for her first CC was Stanmore’s Altaya Jehzara Maria. She was born on 9th August 1994 and bred by her exhibitors. Her sire is Ch Kasaque Firuze and her dam Ch. Altaya Lachesis. The RBCC was Macro’s Nefisa Rajayyah. Dog CC for his fourth CC was Kendall’s Gulzar Al-Mutakabbir. RDCC went to Webb’s Ch. Cottonore Dameris. Best Puppy was Sanghera, Walker & Hamilton’s Miskanda’s Tiger Bay with Kamsun. Jehzara Maria later went fourth in the Hound Group under judge Mr C.J. Aldercreutz of Sweden.

Adele Haddon has informed me that Phil Beeley has had a stroke and is in the hospital. Poor Phil beside the problem of his being taken ill, he has also had to go without his snuff and whiskey. Last but not least, on our list, is Eric Stansfield, who was knocked off his bicycle in central London. Eric has a broken pelvis and will not be up and about for quite a while. The old saying states that bad luck comes in threes. Lets hope this means the rest of the Saluki Community are now immune from all problems.
