SALUKI NOTES WEEK ENDING 19TH JUNE, 1998
Ms Jacquie Jones is holding a one women exhibition of her paintings at the Park Gallery 26 Connaught Street, London W2 2AF from the 26th June until the 4th July. Although this is advertised as an equestrian exhibition we know that there will be at leat one of Jacquie’s wonderful paintings of Salukis because it is featured in the exhibition announcement. I shall try very hard to make it to this show as Jacquie is very dedicated to depicting our breed along with the equine world.
Last Saturday was Southern Counties Championship Show. The judge for Salukis was Mr Ken Allan and it proved to be a wonderful day for Zola Rawson’s Mumtaz hounds. The DCC and BOB was Bryce-Smith’s Ch Mumtaz Moon Magic with RDCC going to Webb’s Ch Cottonore Dameris. BCC, for her first CC was Rawson’s Mumtaz Star Maker. She was born on 18th February, 1996 and bred by Mrs Z Rawson . Her sire is Peblu Priam of Fargaze and her dam, Mumtaz Moon Star. The RBCC was Macro’s Nefisa Rajiyyah. Best puppy was Knott’s Classicus Zienna of Telika. Well done all.
I have been forwarded some definitions from the Doggy Dictionary on the Internet and thought the rest of the world might like some updated definitions of terms which are dedicated to and from the point of view of, the canine world:
THUNDER: This is a sign that the world is coming to an end. If it occurs at night, when your human is in bed, you must hoist your frame onto said human, drooling and panting, so that human will pet you and therefore be distracted from disaster which looms so close.
DRESS: When your female owner puts on brand new dress to, for example, attend a wedding of a friend, it is your duty to show wonder and approval and to inform the world that this unusually attired human still belongs to you and you alone! This is best accomplished by rubbing your body hard against owners frock (the lighter in colour the material, the harder you must rub), drooling, and sneezing fitfully, as you have seen owner do from time to time into a tissue.
LEAD: A strap which attaches to your collar, enabling you to lead your person where you want him/her to go.
DOG BED: any soft, clean surface, such as the white bedspread in the guest room or the newly upholstered couch in the living room.
