The following information has been sent by SGHC PRO, Dr John Hudson: “The last Newsletter of the year was posted to members on December 1st together with the Schedule of the Club Limited Show, the call for the 1998 AGM with an invitation to nominate candidates for election to next year's Committee, and a subscription form. Don't forget that anyone who has not paid their subs for 1998 by January 31st will not get any voting papers. Salukiphiles throughout the world have been working very hard for the last year or two, compiling information on Saluki health issues. This group, which I have referred to before as SIGH (Salukis in Good Health), has information on the Internet vital to all Saluki people. LKA, our final show of the year is tomorrow and Helen and I will be busy wishing everyone a happy holiday. In case we miss you, please accept our sincere Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...and remember Crufts and Manchester entries are due early in the New Year so don’t forget to save some money for those events. One of my learned colleagues did some calculation and figured that if you exhibited two dogs, which is the average amount, at Crufts and Manchester, one would have spent nearly £100.00. That is for entries, drop-offs, parking, and catalogue. This of course does not include the petrol to go to the show or overnight accomodation if you need to stay nearer the venue.

Congratulations are due to at least 3 Salukis that I know that our becoming teenagers, around this time. ( I hope the years are not as trying as for two legged teenagers). The three are; Dava Bryce-Smith( Ch Mumtaz Camelot of Saruk), Orqi Faber (Suffeina Snow Orchid) and Jemima Williams (Ch Kasaque Dharmas). Happy Birthday to you all and if I have missed anyone, please let me know.
