The Saluki or Gazelle Hound Club will be holding their annual championship show on Saturday 18th October at The Sports Connexion, Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Coventry.The dog judging commences at 9:30 a.m. with bitches to follow. The judge for dogs is Mr E. Tebbs. He has 76 dogs to judge making up an entry of 90 with 13 not for competition. The bitch judge is Mrs D. Merchant-Giles with 98 bitches to judge making up 111 entries and 9 not for competition. Please bring donations for the traditional raffles. The 1998 Saluki or Gazelle Hound Calendars will be available at the show from Ms Nicola Quadling. Postal purchases can be obtained by phoning Nicola on 0181 590 8457 or writing to 57 Gyllyndune, Seven Kings, Ilford, Essex.

Marie Bryce-Smith rang to say that her Kasaque Hyperion of Saruk won BOB at Coulsdon Show under judge Mrs E. Bowers and went on to win 2nd in the Hound Group under Mr S. Mallard. Rosemary Redfern’s Sabaka Dinka went BOB at Eastbourne Canine Society, judge Mr. R.F. Morrison and Hound Group 3rd under judge, Mr Harry Kendall.
