SALUKI NOTES WEEK ENDING 9th JUNE 2000
On Bank Holiday Monday, Bath Champions Show had classes for Salukis, without Challenge Certificates. There was a good entry of 46 for the judge, Mr Brian Peter. He chose for his BOB, Mrs M. Bryce-Smith's Ch Mumtaz Moon Magic. He was subsequently pulled out in the Hound Group by the judge, Mrs Olive Simpson. Best Bitch and RBOB was Mr A Rawson's Mumtaz Desdemona. Best Puppy was Miss S Harms-Cooke's Mumtaz Greta Garbo of Timellie. A Good day for the Mumtazes. Mrs M. Bryce-Smith's Ch Kasaque Hyperion of Saruk, was unable to compete in the breed ring so he went into the Championship States where he placed 5th.
Rosemay Lewis has sent me information regarding the annual function for Saluki Welfare Fund. This year it will be a "Saluki Millennium Rally" Rosey writes "We are arranging our Millennium and 14th garden-party-cum-rally in aid of Saluki Rescue for the weekend of July 15th & 16th 2000. It will held here (Fields Farms, Green lane, Audlem, Crewe, Cheshire ). Graham Gough had donated the Shamyl Trophy for the most deserving rescue to be competed on an annual basis. There will be a hounds fancy dress, lure racing on Saturday afternoon followed by a bring and share supper/bbq. During/afterwards Jessica Lewis will auction special up-market items of Saluki memorabilia." For a complete breakdown of the day please ring Rosie on 01270-811070 and she will send you all the information
Also regarding the rally, Helen Graham has sent the following information: "Harry Watling will be providing lure coursing on Sat 15th July - the first day of the Saluki Rally, but will be unable to do so unless he has the help of at least four people who will run out the line for him. This is a great job for kids and youngsters - but regardless of age, someone has to do it. Could you invite volunteers through the Saluki notes and ask them to contact Harry or Roy Goodby to confirm their willingness to help. the lure will operate from 2-5 and will be followed by a bring and share supper."
Lynda Langton has sent me the address of her new Web site for Suhayl, which is now up and running. It is http://www.peds.co.uk/ownpages/suhayl.htmMichael Williams (101547.503@compuserve.com)
