Saluki Breed Notes 6/12/96

Congratulations to Mr.& Mrs. Macro on the birth of a daughter in the last week or so. Known for their Nefisa Salukis this will certainly give them another perspective within the 'bred by' class.

The word SIGH has taken on a new meaning with the instigation of a group having the specific intension of investigating and improving the health of our ancient breed. Salukis In Good Health is what the initials stand for. Those involved will be communicating with Saluki owners and breed clubs around the world addressing issues relative to health and well being. While the instigators originate in North America,through electronic data,already most of the other continents have representation. Hopefully we can all find some solutions to problems by exchanging information and assisting one another in an open fashion. Tessa Abbott and Peter Yardley are still the main contacts in the U.K.and will be working with SIGH in this area.

Further to the Judging Seminar held two weeks ago by the SGHC if anyone in attendance (or otherwise) has any views, thoughts or opinions as to the content or what might be interesting for any future such arrangements, please let me know as I feel that this type of forum is extremely useful and should be continued on a regular basis. Again, thanks go to those for arranging and participating in the last one.
