Saluki happenings are quite thin on the ground now, so I thought I would take the opportunity to look back on 1997.
The TOP WINNING SALUKI was a tie between Mr & Mrs KR Hadfield’s Ch Bamjoeh Beguine of Lokhandar and Mr & Mrs H Kendall’s Ch Gulzar Al-Mutakbbir JW.

TOP SIRE was Mr & Mrs O Davies Lusaki Ivory Ingot
TOP STUD was Mr & Mrs E Stansfield’s Ch Ishieya Asiil
TOP BROOD BITCH Mr & Mrs CM Williams Ch Kasaque Eve

There were 7 Salukis that qualified for their Championship are : Cottonore Dameris owned by Miss J Webb: Asayaad Yimkin from Knightellington owned by Mrs S Rabey-Wilkinson; Wahiba Dhakhia owned by Mr R Goodby; Gulzar Al-Mutakbbir JW Owned by Mr & Mrs H Kendall; Ch Altaya Jaida-Maria owned by Mr & Mrs Stanmore; Ishieya Umniyah owned by Mr & Mrs Stansfield. and Mrs D Copperthwaite’s Al Caliphs Surayya.

The Junior Warrant Winners are: Mrs T Moore’s Lusaki Libambah of Adhari, Mrs B Faber’s Kasaque Huntress of Sufeina, Mr A Rawson’s Mumtaz Star Maker, Mrs D.Garratt’s Caryna Hera and Mr H.Watling’s Caryna Aphrodite at Easternway.

There were 13 litters of Saluki puppies registered in 1997 making 69 puppies
