Further to my comments last week regarding Sylvia Harmes-Cooke’s daughter Christobel competing in a Special Athletic meeting I can now advise that she won three Gold Medals. A remarkable performance I would say!! Unfortunately I managed to state the wrong sport which is in fact is weight lifting rather than throwing the javelin. Even if I got it wrong obviously Christobel didn’t and our congratulations must go to her for this achievement.

Last week I received a letter written by Ms. Breda Barnett from Dublin. Having asked so pleasantly for some space in this column how can I refuse? Breda’s young dog Shondel Fortunus, known as Rudi, won the Green Star and BOB under IKC rules. He was also awarded, under FCI rules, the CACIB graded excellent. The judge Anne Marie Thomasson is from the Netherlands and is a sighthound specialist. Rudi was bred by Iris Moore by Ch. Mumtaz Camelot of Saruk out of Shondel Estella. Well done Rudi!

Due to my convalescing from illness we were unable to attend the SGHC Annual General Meeting. John Hudson the SGHC PRO will be sending details, from the meeting, for me to put in these notes but I can advise, that the new President, of the club, is Mrs Tessa Abbott.
