SALUKI NOTES WEEK ENDING 3RD DECEMBER 1999

The Crufts Issue of "the Saluki" is in the process of being put together by its Editor, Ann Shimmin. Ann has sent us the following message: "Just a quick request for a reminder of the copy date for 'The Saluki - Crufts 2000 Edition', which is Saturday 11th December. (I know you have your diary system - but you know how Editors worry!). Any items forwarded to me prior to this date will obviously be very gratefully received - and of course anyone is welcome to contact me (phone - 01624 620715, email - ann@cranstal.enterprise-plc.com) to discuss any difficulties that they may be having. I will be on holiday from Thursday 25th November through until Thursday 9th December but anyone with urgent queries during that time can contact Nicola Quadling. We are hopeful that people will celebrate the Millennium with an Advert. As all our readers and advertisers are aware we are always looking for advertising - so celebrate your wins during 1999 or advertise any proposed litters during 2000 - by letting the world know about them when the magazine comes out at Crufts 2000." Nicola Quadling will be at LKA and will gladly accept any ads you may want to bring along there.

I have received an interesting request from George Bell of Woodinville, Washington. He and his wife Sally own a digital video production called 'Animals Near & Far'. George writes that Sally and he are putting together a book on Sighthounds and they are looking for some outstanding photographs in the following catagories:1. Sighthounds in the field either hare coursing, lure chasing or racing. 2. Sighthounds in their country of origin and 3. Outstanding candid shots. We think it's important to gather as much outstanding work and publish it. Many collections are lost due to fire, death and divorce. Also many magazines lose their collections from folding or changing hand. George says that they want the British perspective represented.

Chris and Murray Ormsby are moving to an new address at the beginning of December. Their address is Christmas Cottage, 27 Hawthorne Drive, Bradwell Grove, Burford, Oxon OX18 4XF. Their new telephone number is 01993 824919. Chris has informed us that this will be the absolutely the last move as even though they are moving just a few miles it has been such hard work. Good luck to both of you in your new house.
