SALUKI (GAZELLE HOUND) BREED NOTES

SALUKI NOTES WEEK ENDING 3rd SEPTEMBER 1999

Sorry for not having any notes last week but with my hectic work schedule and Helen putting her show to bed, there was little time for anything else.

I will start with the results of Bournemouth Championship Show, which I have not previously reported upon. Judging was Mrs Marian Spavin, who is an all rounder. BOB and DCC was awarded to Mrs P Kendall's Ch Gulzar Al-Mutakabbir. The RDCC was Mrs M Bryce-Smith's Ch Mumtaz Moon Magic. BCC was Mr A MacDonald's Mabrooka Matara, with the RBCC going to Mr A Rawson's Mumtaz Star Maker. Best Puppy was Mrs D Layton's Classicus Zephyr.

The next show is The Welsh Kennel Club with the judge, a breed specialist, Mrs J Cotterill. Her BOB and DCC was Mr A MacDonald's Ch Mabrooka Khamriy, with the RDCC to going to Mrs K Webb's Classicus Hermes. BCC, for her third CC and thus making her a Champion was Mr D Wieden and Mr F Farrar's Sedeki Irada. She was born on 8th August 1996 and her breeder is her exhibitor. Her sire is Ch Asayaad Yimkin from Knightellington and dam, Am Ch Sedeki Mazuri Cha Har(imp). RBCC was Mrs A Jones and Mr K Carter's Clearwing Beraq. Best Puppy was Mrs M Parker's Classicus Zahali.

At the WKC Show Helen had a chat with Ann MacDonald about those that have qualified for the finals of Puppy Of the Year. It seems that the only Saluki to qualify was her Ch Saklawi Bishah of Mabrooka. Congratulations on achieving the qualification.

The 11th September will be Hound Day at Richmond Championship Show. Visiting that day will be the Chatos (Baghdad Salukis) from Australia.
