1. Afghan Hound Resue Stories - submissions invited
The Rescue Committee of the Afghan Hound Club of America is putting a book of Afghan Hound rescue stories together and soliciting stories from anyone who has adopted a rescued Af, rescued an abandoned Af, or participated in any way in Afghan Hound rescue. The book will be used as a fund raiser for the Afghan Hound rescue program in the U.S. when it is published. All profits will go to the AHCA Rescue program for rescued Af's, nationwide.
All stories will be considered donations to the AHCA Rescue Committee. Authors of stories selected for publication will be given a copy of the book in recognition of their contribution. We are looking for true stories, funny, heart-warming or sad, that relate to rescued Afghan Hounds, whether the story deals with the rescue itself, the antics of the rescued hound, or how the Af has impacted the lives of his/her new family.
We have to ask for permission from the authors to edit the stories as necessary for content, length and format. Stories, or any questions about the book program can be sent via e-mail to resqhnd@wans.net . Chelle and I (Doug & Chelle Vinson, Rescue Committee, Tara Afghan Hound Club, Atlanta, Georgia USA, resqhnd@wans.net) are the volunteer (unpaid) editors for the book.
If you would like to verify that this is legitimate, feel free to contact Amy Peak, Rescue Chairman, Afghan Hound Club of America at ahrne@javanet.com .
