Dr Porter started her El Kabul kennels in the early 1930's and is known the world over, particularly in the USA and Australia. In the early years of the kennel Dr Porter collected a wide mix of blood lines. Dr Porter owned Shah Shuja of Geufron, bred by Mrs Drinkwater which was a son of a Zabana Of Kaf (Miss Denyer, pioneer Bell Murray breeder) and a direct link back to the foundation kennels in the UK. Dr Porter sent Sardar Khan and Rani El Kabul to the US during the war, these two hounds were amongst the last UK exports to have an impact on the breed in the US. In 1941 Dr Porter offered her input to development of the US Afghan breed standard by providing a trial standard which was considered by the AHCA. To be continued...
