Pictured above is Metewand Omai Of Shadowfax at the age of 7 months. Omai was bred by Anne Mathers of Metewand Afghan Hounds in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Omai is owned by Susan Rhodes of Shadowfax Afghans in England.
The pedigree is interesting and is the result of a breeding to the US import Backdraft Paladin (Apricot) with the Metewand lines, then mating a (white) son of this mating into the white lines of the Metewand kennel. The Dam Metewand Orapa is a most beautiful bitch, paper white, nicknamed "Persil" (brand name of UK Soap Powder), has beautiful dark triangular eyes and superb movement, covering the ground effortlessly. As you may gather, Orapa is one my favourite bitches bred by this kennel. The sire Metewand Dallas is also white. Both Dallas and Orapa have proven very successful in the show ring, so best wishes to their beautiful white baby Omai of Shadowfax.
