SPAIN - SHOWING/JUDGING SYSTEMS

OVERVIEW

Precise details of the Spanish system are not to hand. The following extract is taken from the UK Afghan Hound Year Book 1996, Author David Alan.

To become a Champion in Spain one has to have won the following:
Four C.A.C's (CC's), one of these has to have been won at a)The Madrid International of which we have two per year, b) or, at the Club Show, of which there is only the one. Also we have to have attained an Excellent rating at one or the other, the other three C.A.C's can be won at any of the many National or Internationals we have during the year, three have to be won under three different judges.

As you will have guessed, a dog can have won umpteen C.A.C's and never become a Champion unless he has the coveted C.A.C at the Madrid or Club show, in reality it is not that easy, even though we do not have the quantity of our U.K. neighbours.
