JUDGES - QUALIFICATIONS

Under Irish Kennel Club (IKC) rules the qualifications for a Judge to award Green Stars require - For Irish resident judges, 5 years active in the breed, to have judged at other levels and able to satisfy the IKC that they have sufficient knowledge and experience in that breed. For Overseas judges they may award Green Stars if they award Champion Certificates in their home country

CHAMPION AWARDS SYSTEM

To obtain the title of Irish Champion the dog must obtain 40 Green Star points. Four of these must be majors (5 points or more). The number of points are calculated each year by the IKC dependent upon the number of exhibits in the breed the outgoing year. Points vary according to the size of entry
