BSFA NEWSLETTER - DECEMBER 1996

B S F A NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 1996

As promised the last Newsletter of 1996.

We had our Committee meeting on the first Saturday
in December, a couple of days after Elaine & Nick
returned from their extended holiday to the sun in
Bermuda! ! !

The main outcome from the meeting was that overall
entries had gone down from 50 + in 1995 to 42 this
last season, but as long as these faithful keep corning,
and we could recruit more to attend, things would
remain OK.

The problem of having too few Judges to off1ciate at
the eight meetings has become a problem which will
remain unless a couple more of you would like to
stand in the centre and judge. We hope to have a
judges symposium on a Saturday prior to a meeting
but this would not be until July. Please let me know if
you would like to try judging, we just need quite a
few people, as the idea is for one person only to
judge at one meeting per season. We are going to
introduce a Green flag to be raised for the Judges
when they are ready for the next pair of dogs, as it
does take a few minutes to get all the scores onto the
score sheets.

We will be running a special meeting at Shotover
park on June 8th. This is just north of Oxford off the
A34 before the M40 Junction full details of these
direction will appear by the next Newsletter in
February. This will take the format that we used at
Ardingley a few years ago, with the main competition
running both rounds as soon as possible. Then the
'Public' can run their dogs for £1 and re~c,eive an A5
certificate for the timed run. All the money would be
donated to the British Field Sport Society who's
event this is for.

The AGM will be on the 16th.February at The Swan
at Three Mile Cross, Nr.Reading at 1 lam. The
Agenda will consist of l:Apologies: 2: Minutes of
last AGM: 3: Secretaries Report: 4: Treasurers
Report: 5: Chairman's Report: 6: Any Other Busi-
ness at the discretion of the Chairman.

Now for the reason for this Newsletter the events
dates for 1997 which will be our ninth season of
running Lure Coursing in this country.
