SOME NOTES ON FINLAND KENNEL CLUB

In Finland you are entitled to breed 2 litters without an affix, but in order to get the third litter registered with the Finnish Kennel Club you have to be registered yourself with a kennel name. It would be easy if the Finnish Kennel Club only had to accept the name, but the FCI also requires to register it. This can take a long time as sometimes the name for the affix chosen by the applicant has already been used/reserved by another and a second/third application may be necessary.

The Finnish Kennel Club is a large institution, it has around 109,000 members, there are about 500,000 dogs in Finland (compared to the population of about 5.5 million).
