In the belief that there is nothing wrong with excellence, we are going to produce a Year Book which will be the envy of all.

The primary intention is to create a superb record of everything that has happened with our breed in this country from the time of the first arrivals who came on sailing ships, along with the camels, goats and the Afghani people themselves, and accompanied the men who built the Overland Telegraph. This early presence of Afghan Hounds in our country in their natural environment is unique in the Western World.

Subsequent enhancement of the breed by so many dedicated and talented people has led to the Australian Afghan Hound being acknowledged throughout the world.

To adequately record all this of course is a massive task and will require all the support and co-operation we can get. You will realise that this will all take many years to accomplish, but slowly, piece by piece, we intend to build up this invaluable data base - rest assured, we are here for the long haul.

The front cover of our Year Book will be in full colour, with some gold foiling. The inside and outside back will be available for full colour advertising, and four other full colour pages will be on offer. The page size will be A4, which is slightly larger than, for example "Afghan Review" with which most of you will be familiar.

The book will be square bound, and of course printed on quality paper.

There will be 112 pages of text, and we are allowing for 60 pages of advertising and 52 non income producing pages devoted to all matters pertaining to Afghan Hounds.

The first edition will be released on June 1, 1997, in time for The Third Afghan Hound World Congress in Denmark.
