"FREDDIE"
Ann and I were lucky enough to be able to go to Stockholm to pick Freddie. We spent 6 days with the Ekwalls, in their home, and were treated to wonderful hospitality. We were able to meet Elisabet Leven, Sven Westerblad and Magnus Hagstead, and see in the flesh Anita (Xciting Blonde in Black Silk), Harry (Gengala Been There) and Fred (Yesterday Today and Tomorrow).
Freddie came to the UK under the Balai Directive, which meant that he did not have to go into quarantine.
He arrived on 2nd March 1997, with Carina, who came over with him, and was able to go to Crufts while she was here.
Freddie has settled very well and has a superb temperament. He has given my ten year old afghan bitch a new lease of life, and he even gets on well with my cat. Freddie learns very quickly allthough, when he is feeling particularly stubborn he decides that he doesn't speak English and has "Swedish only" days. He qualified for Crufts at his first Championship show and, so far, has never been unplaced, although he hasn't been to many shows yet. He will not appeal to all judges in the UK, as he is very refined and elegant. However, he has a growing fan club, and really enjoys showing, now that he has worked out what it is all about.
